On Thursday, August 14, 2025, community leaders and freedom advocates gathered in Burnaby for the Annual George Jonas Freedom Award Dinner, honoring Dr. Frances Widdowson for her courageous defense of academic freedom and free expression in Canadian post-secondary institutions. The evening featured a reception, an exceptional three-course dinner with an open bar, and inspiring remarks, including a keynote by Drea Humphrey—Rebel News’ BC Bureau Chief—who continues the tradition of challenging censorship head-on.
